Johann Ulrich Müller; 1633-1715.
Precious little is known about Müller. Encyclopedist (astronomer, geographer, mathematican,..) he operated in Ulm and Augsburg; producing a large number of reference books.

Florida hiesse vorzeiten Jaquaza, theilet sich;.... c1692.
This rare miniature map (3" X 2 1/2") was originally designed in 1692 for inclusion in
the "Kurtz-büdinge Abbild ....". The date of its printing is unknown since it was
reissued as part of the "Kleiner Atlas".
The title warns that Florida was named in olden days Jaquaza including 1- Apalaches, 2- Tequesta, 3- St Augustine, 4- Charlesfort, 5- Louisiana., as such the design is quite outdated, probably influenced by Sanson's map of 1657.
Notice Florida Hispanica
(by this time replaced by Louisiana 1652), and Florida Francica (oblirated by the Spaniard some 130 years before).
Note also the towns of Augustino, Mathæo (spanish name for captured Fort Caroline) and Charlesfort (actually located on Paris Island and abandonned for a long time).
